Fabio Rossi a de qui tenir : son père était importateur et distributeur de spiritueux. Il reprend le flambeau en ouvrant sa propre société de négoce, Rossi & Rossi, en 1999. A l’origine orientée vers le whisky, la société ne tarde pas à s'intéresser au rhum, et c’est ainsi que naît la marque Rum Nation.

Celle-ci nous propose donc des rhums originaires de tous les pays, même si l’Amérique latine est privilégiée. Il s'agit ici d'un profil britannique puisque cette magnifique bouteille nous provient du Guyana.

Ce rhum a été élaboré dans la mythique colonne de distillation Enmore, récupérée par Demerara Distillers après la fermeture de la distillerie du même nom. Cette carafe Rum Nation renferme un rhum du Guyana distillé en 1997 issue du célèbre alambic Enmore, une colonne à distillation continue en bois.

Il s’agit en réalité d’un assemblage de deux fûts au long vieillissement de 24 ans. Le premier a bénéficié d’un affinage de 4 ans en fût de sherry, tandis que le second a profité de 3 ans et demi de présence en fût de whisky.

Ce small batch n’a pas subi de réduction lors de la mise en bouteilles à 670 exemplaires
