The Foursquare distillery in Barbados was founded by the Seale family in the mid-1990s. The Seales, having bottled rum in Barbados for over five generations, own a string of traditional brands which now feature Foursquare rum as their main component. Barbados 1999 has been distilled by Foursquare on pot and column stills and matured in ex-rum American Oak cask for 22 years. This Foursquare spent 8 years in the tropics. The cask yielded 210 bottles containing spirit at 61% ABV. Only 210 bottles have been bottled.
